TeamViewer is a secure and easy-to-use tool that allows someone to remotely access your computer for technical support or collaboration. Whether you’re getting IT help or assisting someone else, here’s how to quickly download, install, and share your TeamViewer details.

On Windows 10/11

  1. Download TeamViewer

    • Once downloaded, open the TeamViewer setup file.
    • Choose Default installation and click Accept – next.
    • TeamViewer will install automatically.
  3. Open TeamViewer
    • After installation, TeamViewer will open.
    • You’ll see your Your ID and Password under the Allow Remote Control section.
  4. Share Your Details
    • Provide your ID and Password to your IT technician so they can connect to your computer.
    • Only share these details with someone you trust—each session generates a new password for security.

On macOS

  1. Download TeamViewer
  2. Install the App
    • Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag TeamViewer into your Applications folder.
    • Launch TeamViewer from your Applications.
  3. Grant Permissions
    • The first time you run TeamViewer, macOS may ask you to allow access to screen recording and accessibility.
    • Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, and allow the permissions TeamViewer requests.
  4. Get Your ID and Password
    • Once open, TeamViewer will display your ID and Password.
    • Share these with your support technician as needed.

On Mobile (iOS or Android)

  1. Download the App
    • Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
    • Search for TeamViewer QuickSupport and install it.

    • Once installed, open the app.
    • It will show your unique ID on the main screen.
  3. Share Your ID
    • Provide this ID to the technician to allow them to connect to your device.
    • You may need to accept a connection request when it comes through.

Tips

  • Do not share your password publicly. Only give it to trusted support personnel.
  • Each TeamViewer session generates a new password, adding an extra layer of protection.
  • Install QuickSupport on phones and tablets for remote support on mobile devices.
  • Uninstall or exit TeamViewer if you no longer need remote access to prevent accidental connections.
